Whether it’s confronting hillbillies with handguns, scrape-carving a pig’s tail before lunch on Friday or tossing aside a dead bird as if it were an inferior toupee…. Mad respect to Jana for filming !@

Best High Schools In Arkansas 2009

Choosing your child’s school is not always as easy task.  There are questions of where they will fit in, who offers the sports they like, who performs best on standardized test and countless other questions that have to be assessed.  In this article we are focusing on the “best” schools as being those where the children perform best on standardized test.  This may not mean that it is necessarily the best school for your child to attend, just that the students there excel academically.  I recommend visiting all schools prior to enrollment to find the perfect fit for your child.

With that being said, the top 20 High Schools in Arkansas are:

1.        Haas Hall Academy (87 students)
2.        Taylor High School (139 students)
3.        Bentonville High School (3135 students)
4.        Searcy High School ( 1101 students)
5.        Benton High School (980 students)
6.        Dardanelle High School (518 students)
7.        Kipp Delta Coll Prep High School (71 students)
8.        Jessieville High School (276 students)
9.        Valley View High School (903 students)
10.      Viola High School (193 students)
11.      Parkers Chapel High School (353 students)
12.      Southside High School (1561 students)
13.      Mountain View High School (540 students)
14.      Conway High East (1380 students)
15.      Bryant High School (2005 students)
16.      Calico Rock High School (214 students)
17.      Paris High School (356 students)
18.      Greenwood High School (794 students)
19.      Salem High School (362 students)
20.      Bergman High School (307 students)

The Benchmark Exam and the End of Course Exam is used in Arkansas to assess student proficiency in relation to the performance standards expectations.
The Benchmark Exam test all students 3-8 and 11 in literacy and grades 3-8 in math.
The End of Course Exam test all students in high school in alegebra I and geometry.

Arkansas Razorback marching band, Arkansas Travelers baseball game, 4 Sept 2009

Yes, this is a football marching band playing on a baseball field. The Arkansas Razorback marching band was invited to play the National Anthem at the final game of the 2009 Arkansas Travelers baseball season, following the RazorRock pep rally, which was the day before the first Arkansas Razorback game of the 2009 football season. Great idea to combine two Arkansas sports institutions. In this video, the band plays the Arkansas Razorback fight song.
